hello.

Update: Jan 25, 2026

Dearest shed folks,

Happy Winter. This is a season that one must learn to lean into. Winter is a mindset. I personally love the snow-blanketed landscapes, the dormant textures from sleeping vegetation. The opportunity to take long walks. You must layer and bundle, and you will enjoy the brisk air; it won’t feel like a burden. Underdress and consider yourself miserable.

We fired in the first big winter storm that hit. Deep, deep snowfall and quiet roads surrounded our kiln and cozied us close to the fire. It’s not easy to work against the raw elements for long hours, but we pushed through. Our firing lasted 22 hours from the very early morning on Thursday into Friday morning. Rhythmic stoking every 5-7 mins is what it takes to bring our kiln to temperature. So 22 hours means 22 hours of straight labour.

Now that the kiln has been unloaded and the wares have rewarmed enough for testing to begin, I feel this is the ideal season for me to organize, regroup and plan for new directions. I am slowly sanding the wares from our fire No. 28—the winter fire. The pots are worthy, and I am excited to begin slowly releasing them into the wild.

I am starting with buds and blooms, a Valentine-inspired pairing of clay and petals. This collection is available for pre-order. I will be hand-selecting and arranging the blooms from local flower shops and greenhouses. Place your pre-order by February 11 at noon and pick up between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm on the 14th.

I will work to get our brick-and-mortar opened for winter hours sometime mid-February so you can see the full collection of new work. I have another small batch special edition release planned in the coming weeks. One slow and steady step in front of the other.

Love, j + r

Buds for Valentine’s Day.

I am a potter. I love to garden, but I don’t make any claims to be qualified for floral design. However, if you trust my judgment of perceived beauty, I would be honoured to fill my vases with flowers for your cherished one. All flowers are locally sourced and will be placed lovingly in your vase the day before your scheduled pick up.

Tip: For lasting blooms take them directly home. Do not keep outside in the cold weather for more than the direct drive home. Change the water every 2-3 days to help extend the life of your flowers.

More vases will be added to the website shortly.

Arrangement flowers: seeded eucalyptus, parvifolia eucalyptus, purple limonium, pink star of bethlehem, pink wax flower, pink spray mums, quick sand roses, pink mondial roses.
